Если бегло посмотреть на состояние дел в сфере компьютерных видеокарт, то, на первый взгляд, картина вырисовывается самая радужная. Наконец-то начали появляться в продаже долгожданные видеокарты ATI серии X1800, только что была анонсирована мощнейшая карта NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 512 МБ, однако в недрах канадской компании уже куётся достойный ответ в виде R580... Видеокарты высшего ценового диапазона представляют для вас чисто теоретический интерес? Прекрасно, тогда опустимся чуть ниже, мельком отметим появление интересной новинки GeForce 6800 GS (статья уже готовится), похлопаем возвращению ATI в средний сектор со своими X800 GT и GTO, не забудем возросшую производительность GeForce 6600 второй ревизии, эти карты теперь оснащаются памятью DDR2 и работают на повышенных частотах.

 

Давайте на этом месте притормозим и чуть внимательнее окинем взглядом линейку GeForce 6600, поскольку именно эти карты и побудили написать заметку, которую вы сейчас читаете. Ещё полгода-год назад со всех сторон (в том числе и со страниц нашего сайта) раздавались дифирамбы этому семейству, однако время видеокарт семейства 6600 стремительно подходит к концу. Разумеется, они ещё долго будут встречаться в наших компьютерах, но, во-первых, производительности 6600 уже не хватает для новых игр, а во-вторых, теперь они уже не одиноки. Если раньше иного выбора в популярном интервале от $100 до $200 не существовало, то теперь там появляются X800GT/GTO и X1300/1600.

 

Кстати, вам не кажется, что ассортимент "родственных" видеокарт GeForce 6200 заметно сократился? Речь, конечно, не идёт о GeForce 6200TC с 32-битной шиной и 16 МБ памяти, такие карты не интересуют геймеров и оверклокеров, зато "на ура" раскупаются сборщиками для офисных компьютеров. Нет, я говорю о самых обыкновенных 6200 (4 пиксельных конвейера, 3 вершинных), у которых вдвое меньше пиксельных конвейеров, а в остальном они практически ничем не отличаются от обычных 6600. Всё дело в том, что вместо этих самых обычных GeForce 6200 намного лучше раскупаются GeForce 6600 LE, у которых... те же частоты и всё те же 4 пиксельных и 3 вершинных конвейера.

 

Где-то начиная с июля месяца в новостях на нашем сайте неоднократно освещалось предстоящее превращение 6200 в 6600 LE, однако я как-то упустил этот момент и для меня оно стало сюрпризом. Такой же неожиданностью оказалось появление загадочных видеокарт GeForce 6600 VE, поддержка которых появилась в относительно новых драйверах ForceWare 81.85. Это ещё что за зверь? Знакомьтесь, видеокарта Palit GeForce 6600V+ PCI-E 128MB.

 

На первый взгляд, это та самая орденоносная вторая ревизия GeForce 6600, поскольку на плате установлена относительно быстрая 2.2 нс память в упаковке BGA.

 

Полагаю, что немало покупателей "купятся" на внешний вид и невысокую цену карты, приобретут её, но стоит лишь запустить какую-нибудь диагностическую утилиту, RivaTuner или Everest, как незадачливых владельцев ждёт неприятный сюрприз.

 

Ядро работает на частоте 350 МГц, память – 700 МГц. Это не самые низкие, но и не самые высокие частоты, в конце концов карту можно попробовать разогнать. Однако проблема в другом: Palit GeForce 6600V+ оснащена всего четырьмя пиксельными конвейерами, как и 6200, но имеет только два вершинных процессора, на один меньше, чем у 6200. Вот, что означает 6600 VE, её конвейерная формула 4/2, что даже хуже, чем 6200, у которой эта формула 4/3, однако, несмотря на этот факт, карта носит гордое имя GeForce 6600.

 

В ассортименте видеокарт компании Palit имеется множество самых различных видеокарт, относящихся к серии GeForce 6600, причём далеко не все разновидности представлены на сайте компании. Есть, например, видеокарты 6600 с 512 МБ памяти – это специальные благотворительные карты, они выпускаются для того, чтобы покупатели могли помочь несчастным производителям памяти ликвидировать накопившиеся запасы старых медленных чипов. Они уже не годятся для производства современных видеокарт, но куда-то девать эти чипы нужно, не правда ли? Впрочем, в рассмотренном выше случае урезанные возможности видеокарт скрадывает относительно высокая частота памяти, но есть и страшные карточки с частотами 300/400 МГц по ядру и памяти соответственно, и они тоже теперь относятся к серии GeForce 6600.

 

Не нужно презрительно отмахиваться и вспоминать былые грехи компании Palit, дескать, это "бренд второго эшелона", выпускает что ни попадя, а вот другие производители... Другие производители торопятся не отстать и урвать свою долю пирога. Компания Gainward имеет хорошую репутацию, однако и в её ассортименте есть такие карты, и уже появляются жалобы обманутых покупателей. Именно обманутых, ведь под разрекламированной маркой GeForce 6600 им подсовывают карты классом ниже. Согласитесь, далеко не каждый магазин указывает частоты продаваемых видеокарт, единицы приводят данные о количестве конвейеров, а чтобы ещё ревизию чипа, скорость и тип памяти добавить – такого вообще, наверно, не бывает.

 

Кстати, далеко не факт, что ваш соседний компьютерный магазин сплошь наводнён проходимцами, которые так и норовят нажиться нечестным путём. Магазины тоже заказывают себе продукцию в ассортименте по прайс-листам оптовых фирм. Как считаете, в них указано количество конвейеров? Конечно же нет! В результате магазин заказывает и получает 6600, клиент просит и покупает 6600, и кто в итоге виноват, что на самом деле это вовсе не та карта, которую хотелось? К сожалению, конечный покупатель. Карта исправная? Исправная, так что ни о каком возврате денег или замене речь идти не может. Будьте внимательны при покупке!

 

Честно говоря, пару месяцев назад я с интересом ознакомился с ассортиментом и возможностями видеокарт GeForce 6600 от Galaxy, и всячески приветствовал такое разнообразие: хочешь – 6600 с обычной памятью, хочешь – с DDR3. Однако теперь я с опаской поглядываю на это богатство, интересно, а сколько существует урезанных версий 6600 ака 6200, которые не вошли в обзор?

 

Это негласный заговор производителей и продавцов против покупателей, появление GeForce 6600 LE было только первой ласточкой, первым симптомом, на который мы не обратили должного внимания. 6600 LE и VE – это всего лишь две официальные разновидности, под которые маскируются старые 6200, однако, как мы можем видеть на примере Palit и Galaxy, производители могут широко варьировать характеристики своих видеокарт в том, что касается частот, чипов и конвейеров. Сейчас, в преддверии рождественского ажиотажного спроса, рынок наводняется десятками моделей видеокарт сомнительного качества. Их все сметут по ошибке или незнанию, а потом уже будет поздно. Производители же выполнят свою главную задачу – избавятся от запасов устаревших чипов.

 

Считаете, что я преувеличиваю? Что слова "заговор", "обман", "сговор" используют только параноики? Тогда вот вам информация для размышления: одна крупная российская компания-продавец компьютерной техники, имеющая многочисленные филиалы по всей стране, отказалась предоставить нашему представителю серию различных видеокарт 6600 на тесты. Странно, не правда ли? Вроде бы магазины должны быть заинтересованы в рекламе, к тому же раньше проблем с получением видеокарт на тесты в этой же компании не наблюдалось... Видимо, у них на эти карты большие планы и им вовсе не хочется раздувать скандал.

 

Если вы считаете, что беспредел на компьютерном рынке творится только с видеокартами NVIDIA, то вынужден вас разочаровать. Компания ATI точно так же готовится к рождественским распродажам. После долгого сохранения на высоком уровне цен на видеокарты серии X800, сейчас, снизив их стоимость в полтора-два раза, компания лихорадочно распродаёт устаревшие чипы в виде X800 GT и X800 GTO. Формально, как и в случае с 6600, существует немного официальных разновидностей, однако, как мы могли видеть по обзору карт от GeCube, производители могут широко варьировать официальными характеристиками.

 

Если раньше линейка выглядела достаточно логично и понятно: Radeon X800, X800 Pro, X800 XL, X800 XT, то попробуйте сейчас расположить карты в правильном порядке, если к этому списку добавить X800 GT, X800 GTO, X800 GTO² и самодеятельность производителей наподобие X800 GTU или X800 GTO3. К тому же никто не знает, какой именно чип установлен на данной карте – R480 или R430, какая память – DDR, DDR2 или DDR3 и с какой скоростью доступа. Вот и получается, что X800 GT2 может быть хуже X800 GT, а GeForce 6600 VE хуже 6200, хотя, казалось бы, судя по их названиям, всё должно быть совсем наоборот.

 

Разумеется, всё вышесказанное вовсе не значит, что теперь нужно бойкотировать видеокарты серий GeForce 6600 и Radeon X800. Очень может быть, что именно вам повезет, и вы сможете купить "настоящую" 6600 с памятью DDR2 или DDR3, или будете наслаждаться достаточно высокой производительностью разогнанной X800 GTO, ведь раньше вы просто не могли себе позволить карту за $350-450, а сейчас получаете почти то же самое, но вдвое дешевле. Однако я подозреваю, что гораздо больше будет обманутых покупателей, которые польстятся на разрекламированное название и невысокую цену, но не смогут разобраться в бесчисленном многообразии индексов и купят устаревшую, урезанную, обрубленную карту под новым именем. К сожалению, помешать этому мы не можем, можем лишь предупредить.

Урезанные GeForce 6600 могут не иметь подозрительных суффиксов

Недавно опубликованная нашей лабораторией статья на острую социальную тему о неодинаковой полезности видеокарт серии GeForce 6600 не могла оставить читателей равнодушными. Действительно, каждый пользователь хочет получить адекватную производительность от видеокарты с заявленными характеристиками, а не играть в лотерею.

 

По итогам наших расследований стало ясно, что видеокарты GeForce 6600 LE и GeForce 6600 VE, а также всякого рода нестандартные модификации GeForce 6600 не представляют интереса для рационально мыслящих пользователей. Эти видеокарты могут иметь только четыре пиксельных конвейера и два вершинных процессора вместо стандартных восьми и трёх соответственно, нести на себе ненужный объём медленной памяти или иметь урезанную шину.

 

Между тем, как сообщают нам наши читатели, опасность могут таить и вполне обычные с виду графические платы GeForce 6600 без всякого рода "уменьшительно-ласкательных суффиксов" и избыточной памяти. Например, в ассортименте компании Sparkle присутствует видеокарта SP-PX43DH, ничем не выдающая какой-либо ущербности.

Частоты 300/550 МГц, 128-битная шина, от 128 до 256 Мб памяти DDR-I в упаковке TSOP - никакого подвоха в этих характеристиках нет. Тем не менее, один из наших читателей приобрёл недавно такую видеокарту для своего друга. Прошу заметить - по цене и под видом стандартной GeForce 6600. Даже ярлычок на печатной плате никаких отклонений от стандартных характеристик не выдавал.

Однако, после установки видеокарты в систему и последующего запуска RivaTuner выяснилось, что чип NV43 на этой плате имеет только четыре активных пиксельных конвейера, а число вершинных процессоров равно двум.

Получается, что перед нами самый обыкновенный GeForce 6600 VE, который продаётся по цене GeForce 6600! Вряд ли имеет место подлог со стороны магазина, потому как уважающим себя торговым организациям такая фальсификация невыгодна. Скорее всего, Sparkle решила побыстрее избавиться от запасов чипов NV43 и видеокарт на их основе, но второпях не успела подготовить новые ярлычки и коробки, а также цены . Думаем, этот случай далеко не единичный, так что винить во всех грехах Sparkle не следует.
