Our client is an European Union (EU) institution located in Riga, Latvia. We are looking for a: IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR for a 6 month contract Objective: Our client is looking for a IT System Administrator to provide 1st line end-user support to all employees in a customer friendly way, assist with ICT procurement and co-ordinate ICT related service provision and maintenance.Function and duties: IT Systems Management: Ensure technical coordination of IT & electronic communications service provision and maintenance. Surveillance of service provision by third parties. Assist in IT procurement. Manage the integration of information systems. Website Development and Maintenance: Analyse, design, prototype, build, test and maintain the website and Intranet in cooperation with external service provider. Update website, communicate with web content owners. IT Support: Provide on-site 1st line end-user IT support to employees and website users. Install new applications for employees. Distribute and support IT solutions. Produce user oriented documentation. Service and Support: Interact with the users in a friendly, positive and proactive way by fostering a strong sense of team spirit. Ensure a good communication with the external partners. You are expected to have: University degree in IT Management or Computer Science (you can be a last year student); 1-3 years of experience in system administration and user support; Very good knowledge of the IT systems and essential office applications (Microsoft Office); Website administration knowledge; Good oral and written communication skills in English (with attention among other things on accuracy and logical structure of written communication); Motivation and interpersonal skills; Capacity to work in an international environment. Advantage: It will be considered as an advantage if you have any of: Experience with IT project management; Experience with web applications development; Experience with IT security management; Experience with database design and development; Previous work experience in other EU Agencies/Institutions including experience with ICT procurement. Working hours: Full-time work; Location: Riga. Contract length: 6 month. Salary: EUR 1840 - 1940 gross.
